What is a virtual domain?
A Virtual Domain means having your own domain (http://www.yourname.com) without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a Virtual Domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however, you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address domain name (www.yourname.com) and by your own personal e-mail address domain name (you@yourname.com).

Do I have to register my domain name, or will you do that for me?
When you order one of our "web" series of plans, we offer to register your domain for you at NO EXTRA CHARGE. This domain name is registered in your name, and becomes your property, we do not retain control of it. You will not be billed by Network Solutions for anything, ever. When we say FREE, we do mean FREE! Of course, you do have the option of registering the domain name yourself, although there is no reason why you would want to do this. For further information please see our Domain Name Services FAQ.

Can't I just sign up for hosting with the same ISP I get my internet access from?
Yes, you could do that, but there are several good reasons why it may not be in your best interest. Speed, up-time, and price to name a few. Your ISP is aware that they will be the first place a client turns to for hosting services and many people make the mistake of not researching the market for the available alternatives. You will likely pay for that as ISP's generally charge substantially more for hosting than we do. It's a lot like buying vegetables at the corner store instead of going to the Farmer's Market. You will pay more, and the quality may not be as good. An ISP has a set amount of bandwidth, and a large portion of that bandwidth is used up by people dialing in and surfing the net. With your website hosted on their servers, anyone trying to reach your site from the internet will experience delays at peak times. Webexceed's bandwidth is used ONLY for Hosting. For a description of just how we are connected to the internet, please see our Network description.

Does webexceed use NT or Unix servers?
Webexceed's servers are Unix based by no accident. Our configuration allows us to offer the quickest and most dependable performance possible. We can proudly GUARANTEE 99.9% up-time for our clients. You will see other hosting companies promising 99.5% or even 99% which, at a glance, seems pretty good but is rather deceptive. A 99% up-time translates into over 7 hours per month of downtime! In an impatient world, that is unacceptable for any online business.
